Help & User Guide

Everything you can do on this portal — explained step by step

Using the public portal

No account is needed to use the public portal. Anyone can browse projects, apply for empowerment programmes, submit a grievance or contact the agency.

Applying for an empowerment programme

Before you start, have these ready:

  • Your National Identification Number (NIN) — exactly 11 digits.
  • A skill-evidence file (photo, PDF or document showing your skill or trade).
  • A recent passport photograph (clear, plain background, JPG/PNG).
  • Your bank details (account name, account number, bank) for grant payments.

Steps:

1
Open the Apply page from the Empowerment menu.
2
Fill in every field marked *. Choose your LGA first — the ward list updates automatically.
3
Upload the skill evidence and passport photograph. Keep the tab open while uploads finish.
4
Submit. You are redirected to a success page — your application is now in the review queue.
Good to know: you must be between 18 and 60 years old, and one application per NIN is allowed — duplicates are rejected automatically. Shortlisted applicants are contacted using the phone number and email on the application.

Submitting a grievance

The Grievance form is for complaints, concerns or feedback about CSDA projects and programmes. You can submit anonymously.

1
Describe the issue in at least 10 characters — include the community, project and dates where possible.
2
Pick a category so it reaches the right officer. Add the related project if your complaint is about one.
3
Leave your name and contact blank to stay anonymous — but providing them helps us follow up.
4
Submit and copy your ticket number. It looks like GRM-2026-A1B2C3.
Keep your ticket number — quote it in any follow-up so staff can find your case instantly. Resolution statistics are published on the Grievance Statistics page.

Browsing projects, news & gallery

  • The Projects page groups projects by category; use the search box and filters to narrow the list, then View Details for the full story and photos.
  • Projects, news and gallery photos are published from the staff dashboard — new items appear automatically, newest first.
  • If the live database is unreachable (for example during maintenance), the page shows the last published content instead of an empty screen.

Contacting the agency

  • Use the Contact form for general enquiries — messages go straight to the agency inbox.
  • For complaints that need tracking, use the Grievance form instead so you receive a ticket number.
  • You can also email info@csda.en.gov.ng.

Staff dashboard guide

The dashboard is for CSDA staff. Access is role-based: your account only sees the modules and actions your role is allowed to use.

Signing in

1
Open Staff Login and sign in with the email address your administrator registered.
2
Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the login page — a reset link arrives by email within minutes.
3
If your account has been deactivated, contact a Super Admin — deactivation is deliberate and immediate.

Registering with an invite code

  • New staff are onboarded with an invite code issued by a Super Admin. Codes look like CSDA-XXXXXXXX.
  • Each code can be used exactly once and carries the role, LGA and ward for the account — you cannot pick a role during registration.
  • Register on the Staff Registration page, then sign in with your email and password.
  • If a code is rejected as already used, ask you Super Admin for a fresh one.

Key workflows

1. Application review

Applications → filter Pending → review → Shortlist → review again → Select (or Reject). Selected applicants become beneficiaries in the Beneficiary Registry. Export the CSV or print lists for review meetings.

2. Onboarding staff

Staff Accounts → create an invite code with the right role → share it privately → the staff member registers themselves → the code is consumed automatically. Deactivate an account at any time to revoke access instantly.

3. Grievance lifecycle

Grievance Desk → open new ticket → assign and set in progress → investigate → add a resolution note and mark resolved. The public statistics page updates from these statuses automatically.

4. Publishing to the website

News / Gallery / Website Content / Project Showcase → save or publish → the public pages update themselves within moments. Unpublish or hide anything just as easily.

5. Attendance & leave

Attendance & Leave → clock in when you start, clock out when you finish (one record per day). Submit leave requests there too; Admin Officers and administrators approve them.

Frequently asked questions

No. One application per NIN — the portal rejects duplicates automatically, even if you use a different email or phone number.

Contact the agency with the date you submitted and the community/project involved. If you left contact details, staff can locate your ticket from them.

Only authorised CSDA staff. Applications are never public — the security rules restrict them to signed-in staff accounts.

Staff publish through the dashboard (News, Gallery, Website Content, Project Showcase) and the public pages pick changes up automatically — no developer needed.

Your role does not include that module. Access is role-based by design; ask a Super Admin if your responsibilities have changed.

Use “Forgot password” on the login page. A reset link is emailed to your registered address within minutes.

No — anonymous grievances are welcome. But leaving contact details helps the grievance desk ask follow-up questions and resolve the case faster.

Any up-to-date modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Keep JavaScript enabled: the forms and dashboard need it.

Troubleshooting

“Permission denied” or “Missing or insufficient permissions”

Your session may have expired — sign out and sign in again. If it continues, the action is restricted for your role.

Invite code rejected

Codes are single-use. If it was already used (or typed with a typo — codes are 8 characters after CSDA-), request a new one from a Super Admin.

File upload failed on the Apply page

Check your connection and that the files are clear images or documents, then try again. Nothing is saved until you reach the success page.

The website shows old content

Public pages fall back to the last published content when the database is unreachable. Refresh the page (Ctrl+F5); if a dashboard change still doesn’t appear, confirm it was saved.

Notifications not showing

The bell icon is in the dashboard topbar. If it is empty, no notifications are targeted at your role yet.
